Choctaw County School District, Indianola School District and West Bolivar School District are partnering with C路R路E路A路T路E for Mississippi for the 2006-2007 school year. East Tallahatchie School District, North Bolivar School District, Quitman County School District have renewed their partnership for the second year in a row. Benoit School District and Greenville Public School District have renewed their partnership for the third year in a row. The C路R路E路A路T路E for Mississippi staff welcomes all new and returning districts to our program!

In 2002, the National State Teachers of the Year organization awarded Dolly Parton the organization’s first Chasing Rainbows Award for her work on literacy at the dedication of her Chasing Rainbows Museum at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Since then, Parton has honored each year’s winner — a teacher who embodies the spirit of the award and has overcome great obstacles in his or her life to capture the rainbow and help children.
